At Marathia’s restaurant, we respect local dishes and recipes while invigorating and revitalising them by adding creative contemporary touches. Our philosophy and identity revolve around fish cuisine—including fish curing and ageing as an extension of this —along with foraging, supporting local producers, using seasonal produce, and minimizing waste in line with sustainable practices. Marathia is also a member of the European I-STARS initiative, and is committed to reducing our environmental footprint.

Everything we serve – the fish and cheeses, vegetables, herbs, and even the legumes – come from our island, Tinos, and the nearby Cyclades. At Marathia we work with expert producers and we respectfully revitalise both the dishes made in the olden days and the produce grown in the past, bringing traditional recipes and dishes to life with a contemporary creative touch.
We are also pioneers in fish curing and ageing, and Marinos is publishing a comprehensive book on the subject.
Our menu changes every day, depending on what the boat brought in, what we found at the local street market, what treasures we unearthed while foraging in the mountains and what smells best in the herb garden.

Guesthouse Marathia: A wonderful carefree experience
Marathia Guesthouse is a family business. Our trademark is authentic and unpretentious hospitality with a smile, which is why so many customers become friends and return again and again to spend their holidays with us. We like to keep on evolving and offering more and more of the services that today’s travelers need.
Our suites and rooms are fully equipped and are characterized by quality materials, simple lines and earthy colours. They were designed by the architect Kostas Bobolas, in line with the simplicity of traditional Cycladic architecture including the use of cement mortar.
The cool, quiet courtyards and verandas filled with basil, bougainvillea and herbs are the ideal place to enjoy breakfast, read your book or just relax. Or, just a few meters from our guesthouse, you can go swimming at the wonderful sandy Agios Fokas beach.
One of the amenities that make us stand out from the crowd is our breakfast buffet featuring handmade food and fresh local ingredients, all created daily by the team at the Marathia restaurant.
The Marathia family guesthouse of has been Green Key certified since 2016, something which confirms our good practices in reducing our environmental footprint.

Afterwards, you can go for a swim at our beach which is just in front of the restaurant. We provide beach facilities and all-day beach service that includes delicious snacks, salads, coffee, juices, etc.
